Help Improving Sports Performance
Whatever the sport and whatever level you participate, how you approach your mental game is just as important as the skills and fitness you have developed.
If you take part in sport, you may already have a coach who helps you improve technique, conditioning, strategy and fitness. They help you learn, perform better, enjoy your chosen sport more and ultimately achieve the level of success you want.
More recently, coaches who help with the mental side of sport are involved at top professional level all the way through to amateurs who just want to improve.
David has helped tennis players, golfers, runners, footballers, rugby players, swimmers, endurance athletes and darts players amongst others!
David can help you with:
- Overcoming a mental block – for example, a particular shot in golf, when something goes wrong, thinking they aren’t good at a particular aspect, letting go of a particular negative event, minimising ‘interference’.
- Setting goals – for example, becoming clear in what they want to achieve and why.
- Mentally rehearsing for a particular match/event
- Incremental Improvements – identifying small, repetitive components of training and preparation, and how to improve them. This can create vital improvements where fine margins matter
- Overcoming life challenges – sometimes other areas of life (seemingly unrelated to sport) can create a problem in performance
- Overcoming an injury – how you think is very important in the speed and extent to which you recover from injury. Also, the memory (whether conscious or unconscious) of an injury can create mental block.
- Relaxing, focusing and getting ‘in the zone’ – no matter what else is happening around you
